Tim’s “Big Scalps” Line Is Fantasy

Norwich away is probably not a wholly unknown quantity. Their form has been awful, with no obvious distinction between results achieved at home or away.

Chris Hughton was done a small favour this afternoon, as all the sides beneath him managed to screw up. Fulham drew, but Sunderland collapsed against the Arse and Cardiff were tonked by Hull.

Norwich are a man starved. Living from scraps, they have been snaffling the odd point here and there, eking out a thin existence as a Premier League side. Their main problem, among many, is the inability to score. T `

Norwich last won a game 5 weeks ago against Hull. Prior to that, you have to go all the way back to the 7th of December to find the last time they scooped all 3 points in a game.

So this is a formality then? As per this week’s podcast, it’s all about repeating the formula employed at Sid James Park. If we can do that, we’ll more than win, will 2 or 3 in at a minimum. However.. if we churn out a performance similar to any number of “pre-Newcastle” games, then we might nick it 0-1.

Here’s the boss:

We’ve been good away from home and we’re pleased with our form on the road. Norwich have taken some big scalps at Carrow Road and we’re fully aware of that.

We need to go there in a positive frame of mind and maintain our run. Newcastle came out and wanted to play, Norwich will stay at home and try to protect what they have. We have to try and open them up and if we can get an early goal, it will look positive for us.

Norwich will be determined to get points on the board and one point is fantastic against a team like Tottenham, who are very good away from home. We’ll look to stop them achieving that.”

It’s difficult to argue with him. Unless of course, you spend 20 seconds to investigate who the “big scalps” were that Tim mentions. A minor point, but worth looking at.

At home, Norwich have beaten Southampton, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Hull. So that’s cobblers. But the rest is probably about right. Hughton will probably be looking to nick something on the break. Look to build on set pieces maybe. But nick something, nevertheless.

Prediction? It all depends upon how sound our game-plan is. If as much common sense can be deployed as was against the Bar Codes, as I say, we could be in business.

0-3 please.
