Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic.
They have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old Bosnia defender, and the Italian club could be open to selling him in the summer.
Spurs eye Tarik Muharemovic move
According to recent rumours, Giovanni Carnevali, CEO of Sassuolo, recently travelled to London for transfer talks involving the 24-year-old defender. He has now confirmed the information in an interview with TMW.
“Fortunately for us, it’s not just Muharemovic. It’s normal to have relationships with foreign clubs too. There’s no point in hiding it. We’ve been to London, we’ve spoken to a few clubs, and we’ll see what happens in the next few days.”
Even though he has not confirmed he spoke to Tottenham about the player, it is fair to assume the north London club will have held talks about a potential move.
They need to improve defensively, and the 24-year-old could be the ideal acquisition. He has shown his quality in Italy, and now is the right time for him to take the next step in his career by joining a bigger club.
Muharemovic could replace key stars
Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been linked with a move away from the London club in the summer. They will need to bring in a quality replacement. The 24-year-old Bosnian international has the quality to succeed in the Premier League, and he could be a strong long-term investment for the north London outfit.
The opportunity to play for Tottenham could be exciting for the young defender. He has the physicality for English football, and he will only improve with coaching and experience. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can secure an agreement with the Italian club in the coming weeks.
They will be hoping to secure safety in the Premier League by winning the final match of the season later today. Staying up could help them attract quality players like Muharemovic.
