Three Spurs players ruled out, but another says, ‘I think I’ll be ready’ ahead of Villa

By The Boy -

Spurs play West Midlands’ outfit Aston Villa in today’s early game, away at Aston Villa.

Make no mistake, this is a huge game; the Villans are five points clear of us, and with an impressive run of form that sees Unai Emery’s boys having lost just one game in their last five, whereas we’ve not just dropped four points in the same period, we’ve also frequently struggled to convince for large parts of most games.

Spurs will be minus Ryan Sessegnon, who is being closely monitored by Spurs’ medical team, to see when he might return to training. He’s probably a great kid, but vital parts of his anatomy appear to be made of glass.

Fraser Forster has fractured his foot, and so he too will be absent for months, rather than weeks, with that one. Manor Solomon requires a further procedure on his knee, and the suggestion from various sources is that he too is out for the foreseeable.

Richarlison is listed with Premier League Injuries, as having just a 25% chance of playing, and I’d expect he might at least feature in the bench. Ben Dinnery quoted the Brazilian, who had said,

‘No, it’s fine, So, I’m already training, I’ll be on the pitch tomorrow, and I think I’ll be ready for the game next Saturday.’

…but that was back on the 16th of February, and so hopefully he’s in a better place ahead of today’s clash.

Expect an unchanged side, bar perhaps the return of Pedro Porro.
