Your all rather positive tonight. To be the negative one, ( I’m sorry) our first big win was manu which turns out to be kinda shit. Our second big win chealea loses to the wolves (not a totally bad side) beat arse took us too the end but also loses to reg teams. Then the shit team that we handly beat gets a draw again arse after they kicked it to us. Meeting the right teams at the right time? Or did we just fluff the nld?

We’re so thin on the ground with fatigue it’s like watching a very ill patient have good days and bad.

    • Only Me. December 6, 2018 at 9:10 am

You could also argue this supports the Poch narrative that we are a big scalp now and teams try more against us?

      • Harry Hotspur December 6, 2018 at 9:55 am

Big scalps normally get big by winning trophies. Sorry to be boring, but beating us 10-nil isn’t much if we aren’t ‘reigning champions’ or whatever.

Which s why our win against Man Utd was weird!

Yeah it’s nice to be above the arse, finish above them and all that jazz but tbh i’m more concerned with what seems like the backward progress of our wares on the pitch. Same players, same manager, one with a project apparently; yet we’re playing significantly worse footie than last season, when we also had deep patches of gash, particularly towards the end.

    ‘Lillywhite without the’ summed it up perfectly tonight with the following;

“.. 2nd half ManU. 1st Half Milan and Chelsea. Thats it so far this season without wanting to rip my eyes out..”

So following on from the end of the last season into this and the new norm appears to be that we’re now fairly gash as standard, with only occasional flashes of ooooh! And i LEVY see any progression on the pitch whatsoever, not on any front. Quite the reverse. And i’m not just talking about who we didn’t buy that we should have, i’m talking about same players, same manager, same stadium etc.

Which begs some obvious and deeply uncomfortable questions about where we are heading from a footballing perspective and if anyone at the club has any sort of footballing vision and/or connection to the style of football that many of the supporters not only would like to see but for many, for me, was the very reason we became Spurs supporters in the first place .

I bumped into my pal Ralph, the retired bookmaker this week and he nailed it. There are not even half a dozen top flight sides in the Premier League anymore. The quality has nosedived and to such an extent that promoted side used to usually go down, at least two of them. Now we see the slow churning out of sides like Villa, West Brom and soon Fulham.

Spurs have delivered some pretty rubbish football this season and they are not alone by a long chalk. City have won the league and everyone else will be queuing up to see how much cash their placing has earned them.

    • Paddio December 6, 2018 at 9:36 am

Just watched motd (have to fast forward the pudits). It is city’s to loose as the rest all looked poor, standard of football isn’t great. The league is in 4 bands lucky we are in the 2-5th group.

  • SpursGoliath December 6, 2018 at 7:45 am

Chelsea’s next two league fixtures should give us an idea of just what sort of a rival for top four qualification Chelsea are – Man City (h), Brighton (a).

Really, they need 6 points from those – can’t see that happening unless Sarri has a few surprises up his sleeves.

    • Harry Hotspur December 6, 2018 at 7:49 am

Agree, these are super tough games – for diffferent reasons.

  • Billy the yid December 6, 2018 at 12:10 am

Anyone heard anything about the new ground? Heard a rumour underground staff being told to get ready for Jan, which I’ve seen hints in the press as well. I would go and ask our esteemed leader but there’s more chance of me bursting into I’m forever blowing bubbles than there is of that twit giving us an accurate and honest answer

    • Harry Hotspur December 6, 2018 at 7:41 am

The club said that there would be an update the first week in December (I think) and given this week runs out tomorrow I’d be astounded if the news is amazing.

It was suggested that the high end boxes/facilities that were still unfinished, which might be supported by the areas that will be open for the test event.

I still can’t believe they are charging fans £6,000 to come in and buy food and drink.

  • spurs108 December 5, 2018 at 11:47 pm

Very interesting match where we were lucky to win 3-0

    • MrChickenHead December 6, 2018 at 12:55 am

      Very lucky if we did.

For anyone to take you seriously you should talk about our lack of transfers for many years now. We are regressing relative to the rest of EPL teams.

The Saints can take pride in the way we celebrated our win.

  • Cabspur December 5, 2018 at 10:25 pm

Harry Kane despite being shattered from the start and rarely rested 2nd in the e.p.l top scorers ,mucho respect.

  • East Stand December 5, 2018 at 10:18 pm

I knew Woolwich wouldn’t win tonight despite Utd being utter toilet right now. We won well there and all they can manage is a poorly played out draw.

    Table doesn’t lie…

    • Ronan December 5, 2018 at 10:22 pm

North London was red for78 hrs.

    • Cabspur December 5, 2018 at 10:26 pm

Yeah Manu 8th just overtaken by Bounmouth who just lost 4 out of 5 games ,,shows their form.

  • East Stand December 5, 2018 at 10:06 pm

    NLD was a blip.

  • East Stand December 5, 2018 at 10:02 pm

The table looks a lot nicer tonight.

    • dilly December 5, 2018 at 10:03 pm

Easty surely even you will concede it’s a 2 horse race??

      • East Stand December 5, 2018 at 10:05 pm

1 horse race, was always going to be and it’s how it’s playing out…

        • dilly December 5, 2018 at 10:06 pm

          This title race is closer?

          • East Stand December 5, 2018 at 10:15 pm

I don’t believe there is even a ‘title race’ happening. Just a question of who can finish closest to Citeh an it will probably be Liverpool, especially if they get dumped out of the C.L which is looking increasingly likely…

  • JimNewrySpur. December 5, 2018 at 9:56 pm

    Man U 8th, incroyable.

    • Harry Hotspur December 5, 2018 at 9:56 pm

        Bought the league…. Hehe

  • Harry Hotspur December 5, 2018 at 9:56 pm

    Happy with the score.

Trippier appears to have well and truly run out of ideas?

    • Andrew December 5, 2018 at 9:58 pm

I’m starting to worry about our defense. The best defense in the prem two years ago,and now too many injuries.

      • East Stand December 5, 2018 at 10:19 pm

Toby being used sparingly isn’t helping…

  • JimNewrySpur. December 5, 2018 at 9:55 pm

Nice results for us apart from Lpool.

A prime number will be our finishing spot but it won’t be turd

      • Aussie in Switzerland December 5, 2018 at 10:02 pm

        2nd?

  • Andrew December 5, 2018 at 9:54 pm

Why not try and improve our goal difference??? The reason saints had most possession in the last twenty give minutes is cause our players were happy with just the points. That’s the difference between us and citeh, pool etc.

    • Aussie in Switzerland December 5, 2018 at 9:54 pm

They have reserves, we have Levy

    • Accy December 5, 2018 at 9:55 pm

I think we’re trying to be sensible and not over-exert. 8 games in a less than a month is quite a lot.

  • Accy December 5, 2018 at 9:54 pm

Arsenal playing for extra extra time.

Anyone see Lacazeeet trying to score by headbutting a dead ball out of de gea’s hands?

Fair play to them. We’ve spent more on property…

    • Aussie in Switzerland December 5, 2018 at 9:52 pm

That was a fait accompli before round one.

    • East Stand December 5, 2018 at 10:03 pm

They’d won it before a ball was kicked. Liverpool will be nowhere near them come the end of the season…

  • paul December 5, 2018 at 9:48 pm

Players that there is absolutely zero reason under the sun we could (should) have had. They were available, and they were available for reasonable money or loan. All would have either significantly increased the quality in our first eleven or done a decent job from the bench:

    Gomes/Kovacic/Barkley/Madison/Torreira/Yarmolenko/Ramirez/Schurle.

    To name a few.

    It’s maddening.

    • baz December 5, 2018 at 9:50 pm

The German going to Fulham baffled me.

      • paul December 5, 2018 at 9:54 pm

I’d have had Schurrle over fernando in a heartbeat. I’d have had pretty much any and all of these. Think Arse have the signing/bargain of the season in that titchy Brazillian
