Balder than the chairman

Sun damaged and overused, Wembley’s turf is looking less than hallowed; no amount of sprinkler usage is going to get the surface up to scratch before this evening’s Champions League tie against Barcelona.

The worn patches can be seen clearly in these snaps that are currently doing the rounds on social media – do not look good.

Has anyone got any Alpecine?

Nip down the butchers and grab some out the window

UEFA representatives were concerned about the state of the pitch during a training session yesterday and their concerns are going to be added to the final match report.

Meanwhile in North London, some grass is eventually being laid at the New Destination™.

Quite what bearing this has upon when the stadium doors might eventually open is anyone’s guess.

What we do know with complete certainty, is that the supporters who bought seasons tickets for the New White Hart Lane have been treated appallingly.

It really is difficult to imagine that Levy & Co., every really believed the new ground would be open in time, based upon the fact that Mace and their subcontractors refused to commit to penalty clauses.

In ANY other sector, the cretin behind this ongoing fiasco would have been fired.

Great game last night, just a shame Hugo dropped us right in it.

Son cannot play in big games. Last night proved this. The boy is not right mentally for them.

Winks. Hmmm. There is a player there but the boy needs to be brave and let him out. Maybe its fitness and as he gets fitter he’ll be better but i just have this feeling that he doesnt dare be the sort of cunt to win.

If we get into the Europa we must go all out to win it. He he

Ive heard there is no chance of a game at the new ground til Jan – also interestingly (dont know if this is public knowledge or what) one of the reasons that there was a problem with the electrics was because there were days where workers downed tools as Levy was witholding money. Must be a nightmare being stuck behind him at Tesco…last minute he wants to pay half the amount for his packet of Angel Delight. O god someone shoot me.

Where did you hear this? Please provide the sauce.

I wonder which team will get the most advantage from that playing surface? Considering that’s our ‘National Stadium’ it’s not a very good advert, and further along we have to continue playing PL matches on it !

Well, CSKA beat…ahem…Madrid so in the CL strange things can happen, all brought to us by BT sports of course.
I highly reccomend the Moscow goal and Varams injury time ‘miss’ for anyone who likes a laugh.

Pitch looks fine – I’ve seen UEFA matches played on a helluva lot worse.

Should bring everyone down to Sissoko’s level – well, maybe not …..

  • Nicktheyid October 3, 2018 at 12:10 pm

Doesn’t matter what the pitch looks like, thanks to Mr Levy’s lack of investment Barca will play us off it anyway.

I’, looking out of my desk window at the Wembley pitch. The issue is in the centre of the pitch and was caused by the Joshua/Povetkin boxing in September, not sun damage. Obviously no Spurs games were originally scheduled and the groundsmen assumed they would have time to get the pitch looking good again

    • Harry Hotspur October 3, 2018 at 12:11 pm

      It’s self inflicted by Spurs.

      • Harry Hotspur October 3, 2018 at 12:11 pm

        …Sorry, by Levy.
