Tottenham make decision on duo, could reject summer approaches for them

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur could block Troy Parrott and Oliver Skipp’s move away from the club.

Troy Parrott and Oliver Skipp’s future at the North London club are uncertain. They are not an important part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans moving ahead and there is no shortage of interest in their services.

Despite that, Spurs could block the duo’s move away from the club as per a report by GiveMeSport.

Skipp has been a part of Tottenham’s first team since getting promoted in the summer of 2018. He has featured in over 100 matches for them but has failed to establish himself as an important part of their team. The defensive midfielder might have featured in 20 matches this term but he has racked up less than 800 minutes.

The 23-year-old is not happy with his limited game time and is open to a move elsewhere. Meanwhile, Troy Parrott is another Tottenham player whose future has been the talk of the town in the recent past.

The 22-year-old Irish striker who is currently on loan at Dutch club Excelsior has attracted a lot of interest with his impressive performances. He has 12 goal contributions in his 25 outings this season.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and multiple clubs could knock on Spurs’ door for his services. While Skipp and Parrott are not really an important part of Postecoglou’s plans moving ahead, the North London club could still stand in their way.

Both of them are homegrown players and their departures could leave Spurs in danger of failing to meet the Premier League’s homegrown quota. A club needs to have a minimum of eight homegrown players in their squad, as a result, they will have to think carefully on whether to cash in on Skipp and Parrott.
