Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing Ivan Toney from Brentford at the end of the season.
A report from Give Me Sport claims that Tottenham are monitoring his situation closely and they could look to test Brentford’s resolve in the summer if the Bees indicate that they could be open to selling the player.
The report states that Tottenham will not get involved in a bidding war, especially with Chelsea and Arsenal interested. However, the report from Give Me Sport claims that Ange Postecoglou has been given hope that Tottenham could have a clear run at the 27-year-old striker. Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly looking at alternative options right now.
Tottenham need to sign a striker at the end of the season and Toney would be a superb addition. The 27-year-old is at the peak of his powers right now and he could make an immediate impact. He is proven goal scorer in the Premier League and he scored 21 goals across all competitions last season. He could prove to be the ideal alternative to Harry Kane who left the club at the start of the season.
Tottenham believe that Toney would be a good fit for their current style of play, and it remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with Brentford now. The report further states that Spurs would be willing to sign the player if he is available for a fee of around £60 million.
