Tottenham transfer news: Mourinho and Levy do not agree on record signing

One of the key ingredients to the health of a football club is a strong relationship between chairman and manager.

From the outside, the lack of unity between Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy appeared to play a part in our former boss’s demise – with Poch frequently grumbling and suggesting in public that his hands were tied in terms of transfers.

Now cracks may be appearing in the bond between Levy and current manager Jose Mourinho.

A report in France has claimed that Levy and Mourinho hold fundamentally different views about what to do with club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Foot Mercato ran a report on Ndombele yesterday, linking him with interest from PSG and Barcelona.

At the bottom of the article, it was claimed that Levy remains a big fan of the midfielder despite his frustrating first season – which has been blighted by fitness issues and occasional accusations of a lack of effort.

But it is also claimed in the report that Mourinho does not share Levy’s faith, suggesting he would be happy to cash-in on interest from one of Europe’s big boys.
