Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram.
According to a report from Spanish publication AS (h/t SportWitness), Tottenham are hoping to sign the 25-year-old forward on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Thuram will be a free agent in June and he is a target for the Spanish club Atletico Madrid as well.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can fend off the competition from the Spanish giants and secure his services.
However, the Londoners must qualify for the Champions League in order to attract a player of his quality.
The 25-year-old Bundesliga forward has been in fine form this season scoring 13 goals and picking up 4 assists across all competitions.
He could improve Tottenham in the final third and signing a player of his quality on a free transfer could prove to be a masterstroke.
The 25-year-old French international is entering his peak years and he is likely to improve further with coaching and experience.
Antonio Conte needs a player who can share the goal-scoring burden alongside Harry Kane and Thuram certainly has the ability to thrive in the Premier League.
Furthermore, the 25-year-old can operate anywhere across the front three and his versatility will be an added bonus.
Atletico Madrid and Tottenham are unlikely to be the only clubs keen on signing the 25-year-old, especially on a free transfer and it remains to be seen where the player ends up eventually.
