Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent months as they look for a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
The 36-year-old French international has been a shadow of his former self this season and his error-prone performances have cost aside valuable points.
Spurs will have to bring in a first-choice goalkeeper next season and the AC Milan star Mike Maignan is reportedly on the shortlist.
The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Italian league and his performances in the Champions League have attracted a lot of praise as well.
Maignan has now replaced Lloris as the first-choice goalkeeper for the French national team he could prove to be a quality signing for Tottenham as well.
The goalkeeper recently produced an exceptional performance against Napoli in the Champions League and former Italian international Cristian Vieiri believes that the player is worth around €200 million on the back of his devastating performance.
“Maignan is a devastating phenomenon,” Cristian Vieri claimed on Twitch.
“When you’re in the stadium, you think he’ll never concede. (Milan paid) 15 million? He’s worth 200 million. He’s a champion.
“I put him with the great champions of the history of football. If he hadn’t been injured, Milan would have had ten or 12 points more (this season).”
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham come forward with a concrete proposal for the French international at the end of the season. The opportunity to play in the Premier League could be a tempting option for the 27-year-old next season.
