Tottenham man lined up for a potential new role this summer

By Mehdi Gokal -

Ange Postecoglou wrapped up his debut season as Tottenham Hotspur manager with a resounding 3-0 victory over Sheffield United in their final match of the campaign.

Spurs ended up securing a 5th-place finish in the Premier League, narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification by just two points.

Their position, however, guarantees a spot in the Europa League for the upcoming season.

Postecoglou’s impressive leadership has left fans optimistic about the future, suggesting he is well-positioned to continue his success into the next campaign.

Punditry Prospects for Euro 2024

During the club football break, fans might see Postecoglou in a different light.

According to Mail Sport, both BBC and ITV are keen on hiring the Australian manager as a pundit for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament.

Renowned for his deep understanding of football, Postecoglou’s insights could provide viewers with a fresh and analytical perspective during the competition.

While both broadcasters are vying for his expertise, ITV reportedly leads the race to secure his services.

Postecoglou’s potential commentary on some of the tournament’s biggest stars, including his own players, promises to add an intriguing dimension to the coverage.

This punditry role could also serve a dual purpose for Postecoglou.

It offers an opportunity to observe potential transfer targets, which could inform his discussions with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs’ attacking midfielder James Maddison, who has been selected for England’s Euro 2024 squad, is one of the players Postecoglou might analyse during the tournament.

Currently, Postecoglou is in Australia with Tottenham who played Newcastle in a friendly match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The score finished 1-1, with the game going on penalties, which the Magpies ended up winning.
