Tottenham could reunite 24-year-old with Ange Postecoglou in January

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the Portuguese attacker Jota ahead of the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old completed a move to Saudi Arabia at the start of the season for a fee of around £25 million but he has not been able to play for them regularly.

A report from the Evening Standard claims that he would return to Europe in January and Tottenham could look to sign him on a loan deal.

The former Celtic star has played under Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou and he should be able to adapt to Tottenham’s style of play with ease. He could prove to be a quality short-term acquisition for the north London club.

Tottenham need more goals and creativity in their attack and the 24-year-old would be the ideal acquisition for them.

The opportunity to sign the player on loan will be an attractive one for the north London club and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

Signing Jota on loan would allow them to invest in the other areas of their squad as well.

It would be an inexpensive addition for Tottenham and Postecoglou is likely to be keen on a reunion with the player as well.

Jota was a key player for the Australian manager during their time together at Celtic. The opportunity to join a club like Tottenham will be an attractive option for the Portuguese winger as well and he will look to prove himself at the highest level.

Impressive performances during the second half of the season with Tottenham could help him secure a big move to the Premier League next summer.

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds over the next few weeks.
