Report outlines why Postecoglou appointment could convince Harry Kane to stay

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his contract and he is yet to sign an extension with the club.

There have been rumours that clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid are keen on signing the England international.

Kane has 32 goals across all competitions this season and he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world. Both Manchester United and Real Madrid need to sign a quality striker and he could be the perfect solution for them.

However, Tottenham will be desperate to keep him at the club beyond this summer.

They have appointed Ange Postecoglou as the club’s new manager and the Australian will be expected to convince Kane to stay.

According to a report from Football London, the 57-year-old manager will attempt to keep the player at the club and his tactical choices could convince the England international to continue at Tottenham.

Previous manager Antonio Conte was heavily criticised for his defensive approach but Postecoglou is an attacking manager with progressive ideas and his free-flowing attacking football could get the best out of Kane and his other teammates.

The 29-year-old might feel that Tottenham will have a better chance of competing at the highest level under the 57-year-old and it remains to be seen whether he’s ready to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Tottenham have a number of attacking players at the disposal who would benefit from playing under a more progressive manager, and it wouldn’t be surprising if his appointment ended up convincing the 29-year-old to extend his contract.
