Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Athletic Club Bilbao attacker Nico Williams.
The 21-year-old Spanish attacker has been in impressive form this season and his performances have attracted the attention of the North London club. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for him at the end of the season.
Williams could prove a quality long-term acquisition for Tottenham. He is versatile and enough to operate anywhere across the front three and he will add goals and creativity to the Spurs attack. He has 8 goals 17 assists to his name this season.
According to Give Me Sport, he is demanding wages of around £250,000 a week at the North London club and it seems highly unlikely that Tottenham will be willing to pay that kind of money for him. There is no doubt that the La Liga attacker is a prodigious talent with a bright future ahead of himself and he could develop into a top-class Premier League attacker, but the reported wages seem quite steep.
Tottenham will be hoping to sign him for a more reasonable amount of money. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
Tottenham have a quality squad at their disposal and they need to bring in attacking reinforcements during the summer transfer window. They missed out on Champions League qualification this past season and they will be hoping to secure a top four finish next year.
Signing a quality attacker could prove to be wise decision for them. They need more cutting edge in the final third, and a versatile attacker who can chip in with goals and assists would be a superb acquisition.
