Alasdair Gold reveals Cristian Stellini was spotted ‘shouting angrily’ at one Tottenham player during 6-1 humiliation

By Mehdi Gokal -

Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham assistant manager Cristian Stellini was furious with Oliver Skipp after Newcastle scored their third goal in the recent Premier League match.

The young midfielder who has come through Tottenham’s academy, lost the ball in the build-up to Newcastle’s third goal, which was scored by Jacob Murphy from 25 yards out.

Alasdair Gold revealed that Cristian Stellini was seen shouting at Skipp on the sidelines after the goal was scored, according to Gold.

He wrote:

“The Italian looked helpless on the sidelines in the driving rain.

Other than calling Oliver Skipp over after the third goal and shouting angrily at the young midfielder, he looked lost.”

Despite Skipp’s mistake, he has been one of the few positives for Tottenham this season.

He has made 25 appearances for the club this season, including featuring in the last seven consecutive games. Skipp even scored his first goal for the club in a match against Chelsea earlier this month.

Skipp’s performances have been a welcome surprise for Tottenham, who have struggled for consistency this season. He has been given playing time due to injuries in the midfield and has made the most of his opportunities.

Regardless of his mistake against the Magpies, his performances this season suggest that he could have a bright future at Tottenham and in the Premier League.

With Cristian Stellini now sacked and Ryan Mason named the interim manager, Skipp now has the task to impress the former Spurs player who will overlook the remaining 6 games.
