England’s Euro 2020 odds drift to 7/1 after opening two games

ENGLAND FANS SHOULD LOOK AWAY NOW, with the team now being the FIFTH most likely side to win Euro 2020, according to Ladbrokes.

Having headed into the tournament as second-favourites behind only France, the bookies now make Gareth Southgate’s men 7/1 in the betting to go all the way this year.

Elsewhere, France remain 7/2 favourites to win the tournament, while England have since been leapfrogged by Germany (11/2), Italy (11/2) AND Belgium (13/2).

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told The Boy: “England have been far from inspiring up to this point, and while qualification to the knockout stages looks likely, the latest odds suggest Gareth Southgate’s men have it all to do from this point.”

The embarrassment of riches that Southgate has available is mind blowing in comparison to other countries , England are even playing at home.
If they cannot reach at least the final it’s utter failure. The thought of this man coming to manage here would be a disaster.

It happens at every tournament, the media builds up the chances of the national side,so that we start as being overwhelming favourites. Then the wheels come off when we meet someone decent in the knockout stages.

We have some very talented young players in the squad, but until they replace Southgate with a manager who can get the best out of them and use a system that suits their skill sets then nothing will change. We need to be far more pro-active and not be afraid to release the likes of Grealish,Foden and Mount. The conservative Southgate won’t do this.

I would rather lose having played to our potential than put in a performance like we’ve seen in the last two matches, where the emphasise is on not losing.

The only real change that would have an impact would be a complete culture shift led from the top (levy)
Everything we’ve seen in the last few weeks from levy and the club indicates zero chance that is about to occur.

And if we win the group we could play either first or second favourites in the next round. So are England trying to be second in the group to avoid the above ?
