Great photo! Yes, but we did (allegedly) put in a whopping 2 million pound bid for de Vega, the Barcelona kid with the 90 million euro release clause! Which, if true, is a serious statement of intent … pardon me … a typically derisory, ‘taking the piss’, patently insulting, lowball offer, from Levy, clearly designed to alienate another team which might have been prepared to do business with us!
One wonders how many of the world’s football chairman have little wax effegies of Levy, on their desks, that they cheerfully stick pins in during the death throes of each transfer window, in addition to precautionary number blocking, phony ‘out of the office’ messages, VPN’s, GPS masking, anything to avoid contact with our esteemed chairman? Must run into hundreds!

The problem is that we as fans do not appreciate how difficult it is to continually find all these players to be “interested” in and to “monitor”with absolutely no intention of buying anyone of them. It’s not easy having to brief your PR department each day during the transfer window about the output of spin and smoke and mirrors needed to make the fans believe we have even the remotest interest in operating as a successful football club.

I guess Steve “I hate my job” Hitchen puts the call in to see if there’s interest. At that point it gets leaked to the media by the agent, but really that’s only the creation of the shortlist.
Once the shortlist is finished we end up getting whatever player the parent club gives the biggest discount on!
Asking price is for mugs (or clubs with ambition).
We’ll put a bid in for nobody, you see we have “no comprehension” of how difficult it is to complete a transfer. Only Daniel knows and only Daniel uses it as an excuse. I don’t hear Abramovic, Henry or Woodward going on about it.

They don’t go on about it, they get on with it.
Levy is a fraud…
