Tottenham are one of five Premier League clubs competing for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, with Roberto De Zerbi’s side having already made contact with the 21-year-old’s representatives, according to TEAMtalk.
The outlet claims Spurs are genuine admirers of the Norwegian and have been exploring a move for some time, but the competition is considerable. Arsenal are monitoring Nusa closely as they hunt a left-sided attacker, Newcastle have shown concrete interest, and both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are also in the picture – making this a five-way Premier League scrap before a single bid has landed.
What Leipzig want for Nusa
TEAMtalk reports that Leipzig’s public position is a fee of up to €60m (£51m), though the same outlet suggests their sources indicate the Bundesliga club could be persuaded to sell closer to €50m (£42.7m). That gap between public posture and private flexibility is where transfer negotiations tend to live, but it still represents serious money for a player still finding his peak.
Interest is not confined to England either. AC Milan, Napoli, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona are all keeping tabs on Nusa’s situation, which does nothing to ease the pricing pressure on any would-be suitor.
A profile that fits what De Zerbi needs
Nusa came through at Club Brugge before Leipzig paid around €21m to sign him in August 2024, and his stock has risen sharply since. Blistering pace, dribbling ability, and the capacity to play across the frontline are the attributes that have attracted attention – and his performances at the World Cup for Norway, one of the tournament’s surprise packages, have accelerated that interest considerably.
De Zerbi has been open about the need to add a top-quality left winger this summer, and Spurs’ rebuild under the Italian has been ambitious enough that a £42-51m outlay is not automatically off the table. Whether Spurs can separate themselves from four Premier League rivals – plus half of Serie A and La Liga – is the rather larger question. It is not the first time this window they have found themselves in a crowded race for a young attacker with Arsenal lurking nearby.
