23-year-old defender has ‘caught the eye’ of Tottenham during scouting mission

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Aberdeen defender Slobodan Rubezic.

A report from the Sun claims that Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has recently sent his scouts to watch some players in action and Ian Broomfield was in Scotland to run the rule over the 23-year-old Montenegro defender.

Rubezic joined Aberdeen during the summer transfer window and he has been a key player for the Scottish club. He has been a regular starter for them and his performances have ‘caught the eye’ of the Tottenham scouts.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for him in the coming months.

It is no secret that Spurs need to bring in defensive depth and Rubezic which could prove to be a quality long-term investment. The likes of Eric Dier could leave the club in the coming months and the north London club will need to bring in adequate replacements.

The opportunity to join a Premier League club could be an attractive proposition for the 23-year-old defender and he will be keen to make the move if there is a concrete proposal on the table.

It will be interesting to see if he can continue to impress with the Scottish club in the coming months and convince the big clubs to make a move for him in the summer.

A move to England could accelerate his development and give him the platform to showcase his qualities at a high level.
