Barcelona winger Raphinha has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
The 27-year-old could be sold during the summer transfer window to raise funds. Barcelona are going through financial difficulties and they need to raise £85 million as per Fichajes.
The report states that the Brazilian winger has been ‘linked with Tottenham’ and he will be made available for a fee of around £60 million. The former Leeds United winger has contributed to four goals and seven assists across all competitions this season. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to break the bank for him.
There is no doubt that Spurs need to improve their attacking options, but they need to focus on signing reliable goal scorer first. They have been overly dependent on Son Heung-min for goals. Although Richarlison has picked up form in recent weeks, Tottenham must prioritise signing another striker in the summer.
The North London club already have a number of wingers at their disposal. With that said, Timo Werner and Bryan Gil might not be at the club next season, and therefore Tottenham might invest in the wide areas as well.
The £60 million asking price could be a bit of a problem for the Premier League club, especially because signing a winger might not be their top priority. They have to improve the other areas of their squad and allocating £60 million for Raphinha could prove to be difficult.
The Brazilian has played in the Premier League before and he could hit the ground running. There is no doubt that he could improve Spurs going forward but Barcelona will have to be more reasonable with their demands in order for the move to go through.
