So many turkeys you’d be forgiven for thinking it was Christmas.

By turkeys I mean deals that are so far from being deals that they really ought not be listed as ongoing enquiries by a high rolling Premier League club. Rather, regarded with all the due reverence of duff leads in a call centre rubbish bin.

Various outlets report that we are ‘in for’ Pau Lopez who is a goalkeeper.

For Espanyol.

The Standard says:

After failing with a £3milion bid, Spurs proposed paying £450,000 for a one-year loan, with an option to buy Lopez for £6m next summer.

More petty bickering over shillings over someone nobody’s ever heard of, 3 weeks into the season.

Meanwhile, in downtown Barcelona, there is another potential false flag.

The player this time is a 20 year old Spanish lad by the name of El Haddadi Mohamed Munir.

Between all the jigs and the reels, all we need to know is quite possibly contained in the last paragraph of the Sport piece…

The main problem is Spurs do not want a buyback clause included in the deal, something Barça see as non-negotiable.

The clubs had problems in the past when talking about Sandro Ramirez. Spurs would pay good money, but the buyback clause could be a deal breaker.

There’s also English interest from Everton and Stoke City. The former have done a similar deal with Gerard Deulofeu already and are managed by ex-Blaugrana player Ronald Koeman. In Germany, Schalke have made an offer, although only for a loan deal.

A buy back clause you say?

Laters llamas.
