A Simple Thank You Would Have Sufficed

By The Boy -

The THST are some operation.

The clowns that brought you two shockingly bad ideas that were aborted – namely the Surfing Hanky and the Surfing Tea Towel are positively basking in a reflected sense of achievement – from an idea they didn’t have!

Spurs fans are largely satisfied with the match day atmosphere at White Hart Lane, and like the efforts made to boost visual displays of support with flags and banners.

The latest Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust (THST) end-of-season survey, completed by more than 1,600 fans across June & July, shows that 70% were satisfied with the match-day atmosphere at White Hart Lane last term.

Why is there no mention of what a total **** job they had made of the whole deal – over several seasons of farcical witlessness?

The truth of the matter is that the Trust pulled their usual stunt and created a blockage between the club and the fans.

Under the THST, we got a flag for some transvestites and the aforementioned two deeply unpopular surfing botch jobs.

It took yours truly to email Jonathan Waite at THFC who ADMITTED that there was no reason why Spurs fans couldn’t have cool flags and banners at home games.

It was then within a matter of weeks that the THST managed to suddenly facilitate the most incredibly simple of tasks.

What’s gloriously embarrassing here is that this is the same shower whom upon drawing criticism from me in the past – always trotted out the same line – ‘Well why don’t you get involved, opposed to hiding behind your keyboard?!’

Meanwhile, Poch has denied he’s going anywhere – he’s staying with us – boom boom!

Mauricio Pochettino insists he is happy at Tottenham following speculation linking him with the vacant Argentina job.

The 44-year-old, a former Argentina international, was reportedly on the shortlist to succeed Gerardo Martino, who resigned as head coach of the national side after last month’s Copa America final defeat to Chile.

But Pochettino, having led Spurs to a third-place finish in the Premier League last term, wants to stay at White Hart Lane.

“I think the speculation is normal because I am an Argentinian coach at a top club in England,” Pochettino, currently in Australia on Tottenham’s pre-season tour, was quoted as saying in several national newspapers.

“There are a lot of rumours that appear in the media but I am happy at Tottenham and for that reason, this is not the right moment.”

Elsewhere Harry Kane has announced that he and girlfriend Kate Goodland are expecting their first child.

That’s one kid that’ll be easy to spot in the maternity ward if they get the wrist id’s muddled up…
