“For Sure, He Will Have A Few Broken Ribs” – Jose Rips Playacting Rudiger [Video]

Jose Mourinho has mocked the reaction of Antonio Rudiger in the incident which saw Son Heung-min sent off in today’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Spurs trailed by two Willian goals, including a penalty following a Paulo Gazzaniga brain fart, when Son’s act of petulance sealed Chlelsea victory.

The South Korean kicked out at Rudiger, although barely made contact. But the German made sure it looked as though he did by theatrically falling to the floor clutching his ribs. VAR were fooled and Son saw red, again.

Mourinho told Sky Sports that he didn’t think it was a red card offence, saying: “I hope that Rudiger recovers quickly from the broken ribs.”

Mourinho is right to mock the 2019 standards of ‘violent conduct’. There was absolutely no force behind Son’s kick and it was not dangerous.

Having said that, he was suckered in just as badly as the officials, reacting to a firm Rudiger challenge in the back with such indefensible tetchiness.

Did it impact the result? Possibly. But there was so much more to the defeat than this. It is straw-clutching from Jose, deflection from the dark truth.
