Savio made an immediate impact on his Tottenham debut, scoring and setting up another as Spurs beat Charlton 5-1 to reach the Carabao Cup third round, according to the Daily Mail.
The Brazilian, who joined from Manchester City, came off the bench against a Charlton side that had begun to flag. He claimed Tottenham’s fourth goal with a low finish after a dribble, then saw another solo effort clip Ben Davies and go in for the fifth. The latter was recorded as a Davies goal.
After the opening-day defeat at Brentford, the victory gave Roberto De Zerbi reasons for encouragement beyond Savio’s debut. Mikey Moore offered flashes of teenage exuberance on the right wing, Mateus Fernandes made a strong full debut in midfield, Dominic Solanke scored his first goal of the season and Kevin Danso came off the bench to score his first Spurs goal with a header from a free-kick.
