Tottenham Plan Three More Forwards as City Talks Continue

Tottenham are working to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes, with discussions continuing over potential business with Manchester City.

Sky Sports reported that talks between the clubs were progressing, although no agreement had been reached at the time of its report.

Spurs’ search for attacking additions

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham want to add three forwards before the deadline. The report described the club’s plans as including a winger and a new centre-forward, while also noting that the latter role is intended to bring both goalscoring and link-up play to the forward line.

The same report said Tottenham could look at alternative targets if preferred moves do not materialise. It also said Manchester City have replacement plans in mind should players leave before the window shuts.

Summer spending has not ended the recruitment drive

Sky Sports said Tottenham had already spent more than £200m on six first-team players during the summer. The report added that the club could make up to nine first-team signings in total, underlining the scale of the ongoing rebuild.

With fewer than two weeks remaining in the window when Sky Sports published its report, Tottenham’s focus was on completing further attacking business. For now, the discussions with Manchester City had not resulted in a deal.
