Report details Atletico Madrid star using Spurs, Premier League interest for a new deal

Tottenham Hotspur is attempting to upgrade their forward group to add scoring depth behind their two star players, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. The north London club began this process this past January when they brought Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

One of the newest players linked to the Premier League side is Atlético Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco. The 28-year-old is under contract until 2024, but AS reports Spurs, Chelsea, and Manchester United are keen on the Belgium international after details of his €60 million (£51.5 million) release clause emerged.

However, Carrasco is a fundamental player in Diego Simeone’s plans, which is why the Argentine coach has ordered the La Liga side to disregard the official offers for the forward. Nonetheless, the player does want to review any interest considering his contract is up in two years.

The Atlético Madrid winger isn’t contemplating a departure either because he is very comfortable, but he does want to get paid like one of the better players on the squad.

Currently, Jan Oblak, Koke, and Antoine Griezmann earn more than Carrasco. That is why it’s not ruled out that talks will begin for a contract extension between the Spanish club and player, so perhaps using Premier League interest might be at play to get a better deal.
