Spurs working hard to appoint new manager following Man Utd defeat

Tottenham are reportedly working to appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager after the disastrous 3-0 performance at home to Manchester United yesterday.

Spurs were well-beaten by the Red Devils, with doubts likely to keep on growing over Nuno Espirito Santo, whose tactics yesterday were a far cry from what’s expected of a Tottenham manager, with fans loudly booing as Lucas Moura was substituted off despite his lively performance.

According to TMW, it now looks like Fabio Paratici is looking to Conte to rectify the situation, with the Italian outlet suggesting things could move quickly.

It’s not hard to imagine that other candidates are being looked at, and that Nuno’s days could be numbered, but one imagines the strong Conte link in this report is a little premature.

Given how badly Spurs’ managerial search went in the summer, it’s hard to believe they would have quickly got their act together to step up talks with Conte just hours after the defeat to United.
