Report: Juventus turns down Tottenham’s swap proposal for midfielder

Over the past few months, Tottenham Hotspur has been linked to Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.

Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici has a connection to the American, considering he had a hand in bringing him to Turn during his time with the Italian side. Furthermore, manager Antonio Conte also gives his approval in targeting the 23-year-old.

However, Juventus is running a hard bargain. According to Calciomercato, the Serie A side turned down a swap proposed by the north London club. The Italian media outlet reveals that Tottenham offered midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, but Juventus wants cash for McKennie, €30-million to be exact.

Furthermore, Ndombele’s wages are too rich for the Serie A giant who wants to offload players and cut their wage bill. Ndombele earns €10-million per year, and Juventus would rather avoid that contract.

It will be interesting to see whether Tottenham comes back with a cash offer that meets Juventus’s asking price on McKennie.
