Tottenham Hotspur will make a renewed effort to sell Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.
The Dane has reportedly reaffirmed his desire to leave Spurs for a new challenge to Jose Mourinho who had hoped he might change his mind and sign an extension to the contract which expires at the end of the season.
Chairman Daniel Levy is desperate not to lose Eriksen, whom he once valued at around £130m according to The Guardian, on a free transfer so Standard Sport understands he would accept offers of less than £40m.

Real Madrid has long been Eriksen’s touted destination while Standard Sport adds that Atletico Madrid and Juventus are also in the running.
Only that competition for Eriksen’s signature could prompt a January cash offer when the 27-year-old could be picked up for nothing in the summer.
I would suspect Eriksen would be hesitant to commit to any club in January that was not Real, in case Los Blancos come calling once he is a free agent.
So, realistically, only Real can now save us from this costly mistake.
