Tottenham fans are used to disappointment, especially in the transfer market. We’re hardened to it; numb to the pain of seeing our best players leave; resistant to false promises, immune to deadline day disappointment.

So The Telegraph’s despressing outlook for our summer plans will not leave a mark on most of us. Matt Law writes that we are preparing for a transfer window in which we will not be able to spend any money, except that which is recouped by player sales, and will have to make do with free transfers and swaps. It’s a very similar tale to the story broken by Dan Kilpatrick in the London Evening Standard at the beginning of the month.
