“Next season is going to be better for us” Jose Mourinho full of positivity ahead of next season

Jose Mourinho has been left full of positives by the performances of his players at the end of this season.

The club was outside the top ten when he was named manager late last year, but he managed to help them end this season inside the top six and even more importantly, qualify for the Europa League.

His side turned on the style after the lockdown and wins against the likes of Arsenal and Leicester City helped them to overcome their early-season struggles and end the campaign in a good position.

He was speaking after his club’s final game of the season and he reflected on how hard his players worked to ensure that they ended this season in a fine position despite the lockdown that was imposed in between the start and end of the season.

He also maintained a positive outlook on next season, assuring fans and listeners that next season will be better for himself and his boys.

“One more year for Spurs, one more year for myself,” reflected Jose after the draw at Palace on the season’s final day last weekend as quoted on the official club website. “It’s an important European competition (Europa League) and the season had so many difficulties since day one that I think in the end it’s positive.

“The players are happy, especially because we managed to do that in the last couple of months, when the boys worked so, so hard, even during the lockdown, those sessions were brilliant, and I think they deserve it.”

“It’s positive, but the feeling is a couple more matches and it would probably be different, and the feeling is without so many injuries… just a couple less, it would be different too.

“But it’s over, and in the end, it ended in a positive way and with a positive feeling for next season. Now it’s time for the players to disconnect, to rest and to be back with the togetherness they show day after day, thinking that next season is going to be better for us.”
