“Lo Celso Is Coming” Jose Mourinho Seeing Progress With Summer Signing

Jose Mourinho has indicated that Giovani Lo Celso’s Tottenham Hotspur career could be about to spring into life.

The Argentine midfielder has not had the opportunity to make an impact as yet due to injury and/or the mindless selection of Christian Eriksen.

He has featured in our last five matches and made a good impression off the bench against Brighton, Middlesbrough and Liverpool, whilst missing a glorious chance to snatch us a draw against the latter.

And Mourinho senses the 23-year-old is starting to show what he can do.

The Portuguese told Football London: “Giovani comes from completely different football cultures. Played in Spain, Argentina, played in Spain, played in France, now he comes again. You can feel that he is coming.”

However, Mourinho can see no such progress with fellow summer signing Tanguy Ndombele who is out with his third injury layoff of the season.

“Ndombele not even coming,” Mourinho added to Football London on our other new boy. “Injured and with lots of problems. So we have to work.”

There is widespread hope that a change in fortune for Lo Celso will coincide with Eriksen’s departure. The sooner we make that transition, the better.
