I’ll Be Dancing In The Street When The Spoiled Kid Leaves Tottenham

I’m guessing that Dele Alli has never watched the Godfather. It’s referred to in the film ‘You’ve Got Mail’ repeatedly, by Tom Hanks, which I’d hazard he may well have watched.

It’s a recurring theme, primarily because Hanks’ character continually refers to scenes and dialogue from the film in order to find guidance and seek advice, in his own life and eventually in Meg Ryan’s.

José Mourinho’s decision to drop Dele was a long time coming, to anyone that either understood the non-negotiable standards that the Portuguese brings to his clubs, and to anyone that watched the All or Nothing documentary, and then worked out when those scenes were filmed.

Any player that cannot be bothered to train, has no future under one of the world’s greatest living coaches, it’s that simple. I found this performance, completely lacking in authenticity, and quite rightly Eric Dier pulled Dele for it. Calling Dele a spoiled kid was entirely the right thing to do. In fact, it underlines the fact that Mourinho, who is STILL the only Manchester United coach to have won trophies since Sir Alex retired, wanted to buy Dier, and NOT Dele, who Ferguson recommended.

Dele Alli doesn’t need a break, or a run in the team to get his form back, Dele Alli needs a seismic change in the way his view the job that pays him. Until then, he’ll never amount to anything.
