Conte and Fabio Paratici both ‘pushing to get deal done’ for world class player

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte and director of football Fabio Paratici are still interested in signing AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo this season, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

According to 90min, Roma manager Jose Mourinho is working hard to ‘block’ the Premier League club from signing Zaniolo, who scored the game-winning goal for the former Tottenham Hotspur manager’s side in the Europa Conference League final last season.

However, the report suggests that the Italian club is willing to let the 23-year-old leave this season if their valuation of around £42million is met.

O’Rourke believes that the Italian link between Zaniolo, Conte, and Paratici could play a significant role in whether the Roma player joins Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

He told GIVEMESPORT:

“Yeah, obviously [the Italian connection with Conte and Paratici] will play a big part in his decision.

“If he wants to move to Spurs there’s the whole Italian connection.

“Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte are both there, they’re both pushing to get this deal done as well.”

Despite the fact that the Italian has been plagued by serious injuries throughout his career, it appears that the attacking midfielder could be the ideal addition for Spurs this season if Paratici and Daniel Levy can work out a deal. Signing a player of his quality could end up being the difference maker between Spurs competing for silverware this season or not.
