Are Spurs Seriously Going To Waste £5m On A Teenager Released By Stoke? – Report

When you are a club clinging onto Champions League football, with five or six positions in need of urgent attention in the first team squad and yet with an alleged transfer budget of £50m, you need to spend every penny wisely.

Which is why I am baffled – even angered – by the report coming out of the Daily Star – via The Stoke Sentinel – that Tottenham are interested in signing teenage ‘keeper Adnan Kanuric from Slovakian side SKF Sered this summer.

The Daily Star understands that 19-year-old Kanuric is valued at around £5m and has caught the eye in his four senior appearances in Slovakia since being released by Championship strugglers Stoke City back in January.

Daniel Levy will only free up £50m if we don’t have Champions League football, as Football London details. Is this how we want to spend £5m of it?

The report better be absolute claptrap.

If we need a goalkeeper, it is a No.1 to replace Hugo Lloris, not a kid who might fall under Alfie Whiteman and Brandon Austin in the pecking order.

Besides, I’m rooting for Austin after seeing his save compilation from his loan spell in Denmark. He can be third choice when Michel Vorm leaves.
