Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong has named new Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn as the toughest opponent of his career to date.

The 22-year-old is young enough to have trickier challenges ahead but looks back on one particular duel with Bergwijn from his Ajax days with horror.

Bergwijn joined from PSV Eindhoven in January for £27m, fee according to BBC Sport. He scored on his debut against Manchester City and added another in the win over Aston Villa before picking up an ankle injury.

It is early days for the 22-year-old winger, but he showed me enough to believe that he could give Frenkie an afternoon he’d want to forget.
