Tottenham player ratings against West Ham – Spurs best player gets only a 6

Another abject display from Tottenham this afternoon and the 2-1 loss to the Hammers was probably the right result despite Spurs coming close in the last 20 mins or so.

The whole team performance from almost the first minute was lacklustre and it is hard to pick out one Tottenham player for special praise but there are a whole heap that deserve severe criticism.

Tottenham player ratings

Huge Lloris – 5

Culpable for the first goal, though he was not the only one and truth be told he no longer looks confident between the sticks.

Japhet Tanganga – 5

Did ok for the most part but offers nothing coming forward, clearly a work in progress.

Eric Dier – 4

He really is not a centre back and why Mourinho persists with him I do not know.

Davinson Sanchez – 4

Another poor display from the Colombian, surely he must be gone in the summer.

Sergio Reguilon – 5

Not at his sharpest today but that has a lot to do with his recent injury, hopefully, he will be better next time out.

Tanguy Ndombele – 5

Did his normal trickery on the ball and made the odd decent pass but never really offered up much of a threat.

Pierre Emile Hojbjerg – 6

Was his usual busy self flying in at every opportunity and is still prone to rashness but did his job satisfactorily.

Lucas Moura – 6

Probably close to being our best player today and that alone tells you how poor the whole team was.

Erik Lamela – 4

Back to his poor self, no longer fit for purpose and only a matter of time before he gets a red card for some of his tackling. Now a liability.

Son-Heung-min – 4

Another below-average performance from the South Korean. What has happened to him in recent weeks? A shadow of his early-season displays.

Harry Kane – 4

Very wasteful in front of goal today, could his confidence be hit? That would be a huge worry if that is the case.

Subs

Gareth Bale – 6

Made a difference when he came on and questions will be asked why he did not start.

Matt Doherty – 5

Did better than most of our other defenders today in the 45 minutes he had on the pitch.

Dele Alli – 5

Frustrating once again with his silly little flicks at crucial moments that never ever come off. But in all fairness, he did look a lot sharper upfront than a lot of the starters today.

Manager

Jose Mourinho – 3

This defeat is on him, he chose the defence, he selected Lamela and left Bale on the bench, he set the team up, yes, this is on him.
