Tottenham named as one of the clubs interested in Real Madrid outcast

The Daily Mail claims that Tottenham is one of several English teams interested in signing Real Madrid outcast, James Rodriguez.

The Colombian has been axed from the Real Madrid starting XI for a long time now and he played only a handful of games in the last campaign following two seasons away on loan at Bayern Munich.

He has been at Real Madrid for the last six years, but it seems that this will finally be his last season on the Spanish side.

Zinedine Zidane has never been his fan and the Frenchman will be more than happy to let him leave the Bernabeu this summer.

Spurs are looking to overhaul their team in this transfer window and a little bit of star name addition will be appreciated.

Rodriguez was the star of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and his performances for Colombia earned him his big-money move to Spain.

He has failed to live up to the expectations so far, but he might need a change of environment to get back to his brilliant best.

He has his eye on a move to England as he explained in a podcast recently when he said, as quoted by Mail Online:

‘I’ve already been in several good leagues and the only thing missing is Serie A and the Premier League. You have to see where I want to go or where they want me to go,

‘Going to England would be a good thing, it’s a top league.’
