Tottenham make decision on the future of first-team ace with 25 league starts this season

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to keep Yves Bissouma at the club beyond this season.

According to a report from Football Insider, the North London club are planning a major overhaul during the summer transfer window, but they want to hold onto the 27-year-old defensive midfielder.

Bissouma has had his fair share of criticism because of his inconsistencies, but the Malian international remains an important player for Tottenham and he has impressed with his performances more often than not.

The defensive midfielder has started 25 league matches for Ange Postecoglou and he is clearly an important member of the dressing room. Tottenham are lacking in depth when it comes to the defensive midfield department and therefore it is no surprise that they have chosen to keep Bissouma at the club next season.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has recently confirmed that Tottenham will make changes to their squad during the summer transfer window, and it remains to be seen whether they can plug the gaps and bring in the right additions. They are likely to miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification this season and it will come as a disappointing blow for them.

After an impressive start of the season, few would have expected them to miss out on a top four finish. However, their recent form has been dreadful and Aston Villa are now well placed to finish in the top four ahead of Tottenham.

Tottenham should look to add more quality and depth in the middle of the park during the summer transfer window. They should look to bring in a reliable finisher as well, who can lead the line for them and find the back of the net consistently. They have looked vulnerable at the back in recent weeks, and another central defender would be ideal.
