Tottenham lining up Premier League replacement for experienced star

Tottenham has made plans to replace Hugo Lloris should the Frenchman ask to leave the club in the summer.

Lloris is attracting the attention of PSG, which is now being managed by Mauricio Pochettino.

The World Cup winner will enter the last year of his Spurs’ deal in the summer and a return to his homeland might interest him.

Mail Sport says PSG is keen to land him and Tottenham have already started on their plans to make sure he doesn’t leave them stranded.

The Lilywhites have identified Burnley’s Nick Pope as the ideal replacement for him.

Pope has been one of the most outstanding goalkeepers in the Premier League since joining the Clarets from Charlton Athletic in 2016.

He has even forced his way into the England national team and will likely play for a top Premier League side sooner.

The report says his current deal at Turf Moor will expire in 2023, but they have the option to extend it by another year.

His is currently valued at £30m, which is a good fee considering the valuable returns that he can produce.

Burnley hasn’t been at their best this season, but Pope has been one of their top players, contributing 9 clean sheets in 24 league games.
