Tottenham blow as one of their star men is sidelined with injury

Sergio Reguilon has suffered an ankle injury, and he will miss Tottenham’s next four games.

Standard Sports reports that the Spaniard, who was unused in the FA Cup game against Wycombe, underwent a scan on Wednesday to determine how big a problem it is.

It is not thought to be a major problem, but he will be required to miss the next three weeks of action for the club.

Ben Davies suffered a knock in the Wycombe game and he is also a doubt to face Liverpool this evening.

Reguilon has been Tottenham’s main left-back since he moved to the club from Real Madrid in the summer.

His absence will be a big blow to Jose Mourinho’s plans for the games against Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton (FA Cup), and Manchester City.

If Davies cannot play the Liverpool game, the Portuguese manager might be forced to turn to Japhet Tanganga.

The youngster has played at left-back before, but not in this campaign.

He hasn’t also been a regular at the club this season with fitness issues hampering his availability.

The next four games are must-win games for the club if they want to finish in a good position on the league table and also make progress in the FA Cup.
