Tottenham 22-year-old forward target is free to leave his club this summer

Tottenham have been handed a boost in their bid to land Jonathan Ikone this summer as it has just been revealed that the Frenchman will be free to leave when his club Lille completes some transfers.

Ikone has been on the radar of Tottenham for some time now as the Lilywhites look to add some firepower to their team.

He has been an important member of Lille’s first team, but the French side is a team that is constantly evolving.

They sold Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal last summer and they have just sold Victor Osimhen to Napoli for a record deal.

They are working on two replacements for the departed Nigerian with Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos and Gent’s Jonathan David interesting them.

Lavoixdunord.fr claims that if Lille completes the signing of these players, then Ikone will be free to leave.

The forward was one of their top players this season as they played in the Champions League and managed to end this season in a Europa League spot despite the French league season being curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tottenham will look to strengthen their team in this transfer market and Ikone, who scored 3 goals and provided 6 assists for Lille in the French top flight in the just concluded season, might be a good addition.

Jose Mourinho is looking for a backup striker to Harry Kane and Ikone may just fit that criteria.
