“There was not even a second of discussion about that” Mourinho gives firm response to Bale speculation

Jose Mourinho has revealed that Tottenham isn’t thinking about extending Gareth Bale’s stay at the club just yet.

The Welshman joined his former team on loan from Real Madrid this season, and he was expected to be one of their main men.

However, his return to the club hasn’t yet gone to plan, and he hasn’t earned the right to be retained.

He has started just one Premier League game and has a goal in the competition as well.

Injuries have been a constant part of the reports surrounding him and there have been suggestions that he wouldn’t be retained by the club.

The Times reports that Tottenham currently has no plans to sign him permanently or to keep him on loan for another season.

Ahead of their next league game against Sheffield United, Mourinho was asked about the future of the attacker, and he said that Spurs aren’t discussing it yet.

He said in a press conference on the club’s YouTube channel: “There was not even a second of discussion about that.

“Gareth is a player who is on loan until the end of the season. There has not been one second of discussion.

“We are speaking about facts, Gareth himself, Real Madrid, Tottenham… but I promise you not one second of discussion.”
