“There is clearly still problems” Paul Robinson says Spurs man is still not right and questions his attitude

Former Tottenham number one, Paul Robinson reckons that Tanguy Ndombele might be dealing with several off-field problems which is affecting his performance for the club.

The Frenchman is the Lilywhites’ record signing and arguably their most skilful midfielder.

However, his form has been very inconsistent and he has hardly had a good run of form for the club.

He has struggled and fallen down the pecking order under all of Tottenham’s managers since he signed.

Nuno Espirito Santo has started to give him more chances as he shows improved form recently, but his delivery so far isn’t enough for the talent he has.

Hugo Lloris had urged his fellow Frenchman to take more responsibility late last month via Standard Sports.

Robinson now believes the midfielder might be dealing with too many problems on and off the pitch.

“Ndombele is the record signing,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s back in the team but there is clearly still problems behind the scenes because his captain has come out and said he needs to take more responsibility.

“It could be on the field or off it, we know he has had problems with different managers.

“I’m not privy to what goes on but from the outside looking in, it doesn’t look like his attitude is 100 per cent. That can creep into your game and lead to errors and let’s be honest, he’s got an error in him.

“If you are not right off the field you and not going to play to the best of your ability every weekend. That looks like the problem to me.”

Ndombele has to know that more contribution is needed from him.

Spurs’ fans will hope he returns in better form at the resumption of Premier League football following the international break.
