I take a view that Bale has – as with Dele – has been flushed out. The question is, can the pair stay fit, and can they do it against tougher opposition than the Sound Of Music XI in the Europa, or a subpar Burnley?
Bale had been flat, Bale was representing pretty dreadful value for money. It might take a rather adventurous mind than mine to ignore that that Welshman only came good after the Instagram humiliation. Truth be told, Bale is 31 and arrived unfit, all he was up to was cameos. Cameos that were a million miles away from what many fans had been hoping for.
I appreciate just how cynical I am, but even I cannot wonder if Gareth Bale giving it a proper go couldn’t play a sizeable part in us winning something this season. Between José’s guile and keeping Eric Dier off the pitch… please tell me there’s hope?!
