Spurs set for 46% profit on Christian Eriksen as Sky Italy claim he will triple wages at Inter Milan

Christian Eriksen is set for a bumper payday when he moves to Inter Milan… and Tottenham look like they will do quite well out of the deal too.

The longest transfer saga of the winter is seemingly drawing to a close, with Sky Sports reporting that the Denmark playmaker is closing in on a £16.8m switch to the San Siro.

Considering Eriksen could leave for free if he waited until the summer, that is not a bad price. In fact, it would actually see Spurs make a 46% profit.

Of course, that 46% does not factor in inflation, which has been particularly high in the football world since 2013, when BBC Sport reported that Eriksen’s move from Ajax had cost Spurs a tidy £11.5m.

Still, £16.8m isn’t bad all things considered.

Daniel Levy may have played a blinder but Eriksen’s agent has performed even better. That opinion is based on information from Sky Italy that claims he will treble his wages to earn £260,000 per week, rising to a possible £320,000 including bonuses.
