Sky Sports provides an update on Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of AC Milan’s Franck Kessié

Franck Kessié appears to be the midfielder that Tottenham Hotspur wants to land. The 25-year-old is appreciated by manager Antonio Conte and seems like the AC Milan man is the ideal choice to be the spine for Spurs’ midfield.

Less than a week until the January transfer window closes, Sky Sports reports that Tottenham wants to bring Kessié to north London this month. The Ivory Coast international is out of a contract in June and could sign a pre-contract that kicks in next season.

However, it seems as though Spurs want to force AC Milan’s hand to let the player depart now rather than in the summer. Last year, the Serie A club lost Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Çalhanoğlu on a free transfer. As a result, losing Kessié with no fee in return could be another blow.

The situation regarding Kessié won’t be resolved until the player is done representing the Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations.
