Report: Tottenham Hotspur linked forward to leave on a free transfer

Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve their striker position. The north London club intends to bring a player who can either play alongside Harry Kane or perhaps be the long-term replacement.

Over the summer, Spurs were linked to various players over the summer, but no move was made to further improve the position. One name connected with a possible move to Tottenham is Torino FC’s Andrea Belotti.

Last month, Tuttosport linked the Premier League club to the 27-year-old, whose contract will expire in June. Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the Tottenham target leaves Torino on a free transfer.

Romano relayed the remarks made by Torino club chief, saying, “I don’t see big chances to extend his contract, but we’ll see.”

Nonetheless, Belotti isn’t having one of his better seasons with the Italian club as he only has two goals in ten games. Furthermore, he only scored 13 goals last season in 36 appearances, taking a dip from his 2019-20 form.

As a result, this signing wouldn’t give supporters confidence. However, if they decide to pursue this target, Spurs hope that he can return to the form that’s scored 2019-20 form where he scored 22 goals in 44 appearances.
