Report – Steve Hitchen recommends Premier League manager to Daniel Levy

Tottenham’s technical performance director Steve Hitchen has recommended Graham Potter to Daniel Levy as the club’s next manager.

Spurs are on the hunt for a new permanent boss after they fired Jose Mourinho and several names have been linked to the Job.

This must be a tough time for Levy who threw caution to the wind and made Mourinho the club’s last manager hoping the Portuguese would help them end their trophy drought.

That hasn’t worked and he is back looking for a new manager once again.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Rafa Benitez but it seems they might go for a less successful option.

Mail Sport’s Ian Ladyman says the Lilywhites might have to go for a manager that isn’t so reputable and build from there instead of hiring for quick success.

He then reveals that Hitchen believes Potter is the right man for the job.

Potter has been doing some splendid work at Brighton and he has turned them into a team that plays entertaining football and creates many chances.

If he worked at a bigger club and had better players, there is every chance that his team would challenge for silverware.

Nevertheless, he has won no trophy in England and he still manages a Brighton side that is closer to the relegation zone than to the top of the league table.
