Report: Paratici may have already found first January signing for Tottenham

Fabio Paratici has his eyes set on Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi, according to reports.

Frattesi is a Roma academy graduate who joined Sassuolo in the summer of 2017 in a £4.5 million deal. He spent several loan seasons away from Sassuolo before being given the opportunity to shine for his parent club last season, and following an impressive season, he is now a part of their senior squad.

The 23-year-old has now started attracting interest from some top clubs in Europe including AS Roma and Spurs. Roma have long been fans of the midfielder, but Sassuolo are banking on Tottenham’s interest in him.

According to the Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Inside Futbol), ‘Paratici is sold on the idea of taking him to Tottenham’ and ‘is not letting go’ of the offer.

There are other English clubs interested in him as well but Tottenham and Brighton are Frattesi’s top two suitors and both the clubs have placed the midfielder on their transfer wishlist for 2023. Brighton’s interest is not surprising since their new manager is Roberto De Zerbi, who left Sassuolo to replace Graham Potter at the club.

However, keeping in mind Fabio’s persistence and his Italian links, all eyes will be on Spurs who according to the report are considering making ‘a January move for him‘.
